Learning in creative ways makes sure that a particular lesson is learned well. In one workshop, we were asked to put twelve nails together using a wooden block with a nail in the middle. It took us so long, but finally we figured out how to (use 2 nails balanced on the nail-in-the-wooden-block as a base through which you can insert the 10 nails alternating). The lesson was that there is always a solution to a problem and that sometimes one has to use a creative approach to come up with the solution. Lessons like these are learned well and taken to heart when they are taught in unforgettable and innovative ways.

Because of the wonders of internet, I am able to meet people from all over the world with diverse backgrounds and different belief/value systems. I am able to join international conferences as well as projects and forums like this one (studentvoices). We take for granted that we can send emails to or chat with people on another continent or view events as they happen in real time online. I am able to learn more because of my interactions with many people from all over the world. Twenty years or so ago, things like these would not have been possible (or more difficult to do). True enough, technology has transformed the way we live and learn.

i view the world as one big open classroom where there are no limits to learning. i am part of the world; thus what i learn about the world has direct implications for me, and more often than not i also learn more about myself when i go and seek and discover and know and find out. everyone or everything has a story to tell, has something to teach. thus as much as possible, i keep my eyes, ears and heart open to take in as much of the world as i can. and while there are challenges and hardships that must be faced, the beauty of the world encourages me to keep trying.
